Welcome to the Society of Animal Artists Members Exhibition,“Winged Things 2022.” This juried fine art exhibition includes work created by 72 of SAA’s celebrated artist members from the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Australia, Kenya, Viet Nam, and Hong Kong.

Founded in 1960, SAA is devoted to promoting excellence in the artistic portrayal of the creatures sharing our planet, and to the education of the public through art exhibitions, informative seminars, lectures and teaching demonstrations. The SAA’s membership, past and present, represents a veritable who’s who of talented artists from around the world.

I want to encourage educators to make use of the Society of Animal Artist’s unique online exhibitions. Each artist’s page includes information about the species depicted, access to the artists through their website and email, and some even have video. As artists, in addition to creating fine art, we want to help educate and advocate for our subjects and their habitats.

The theme for this remarkable show is “anything with wings.” Enjoy superb paintings and sculptures of birds, butterflies and moths, dragonflies, and even a flying fox bat.
