I have a passion for sculpting overlooked and misunderstood animals, particularly the intricate beauty of snakes. I enjoy challenging my viewers’ almost instantaneous, visceral reaction to the animals and try to make them see how incredibly beautiful these creatures truly are. I observe live animals, photographic and video reference to capture the pose, gesture and movements of each creature gracefully and artistically. Every detail is sculpted by hand with each individual scale and wrinkle carved accurately to species. I hope my Artwork causes a pause and an appreciation for both these incredible creatures and the efforts made to present their amazing beauty.
