The idea for “Kindred Spirits” germinated the first time I set eyes on these gentle souls watching me from the bush in South Africa. I took many photographs of the three of them from different angles and I knew a painting was on the horizon. Their curiosity and gentle stares are what drew me to them and what I wanted to capture in my painting.
