Dry Cycle

Being fortunate to have a winter residence near a wetland reserve, I have access to anhinga, blue herons, tricolored herons, wood storks, egrets and more.
The calculated crop of “Dry Cycle” places emphasis on the anhinga’s wings, the focal point of the painting, as they dry in the warmth of the dappled morning sunlight.
The softness of the background vegetation lets the observer focus on the main subject and the beautiful markings of the anhinga’s wings.
