After observing a snow leopard at the zoo in the Jardin des Plantes in Paris, I imagined it as being free, hurtling down the steep and rocky slopes of the mountains of Tibet. I wanted to recreate its prodigious leaps, speed and agility. But this magnificent big cat is still a vulnerable animal with an uncertain future.
