On a trip to St John’s Newfoundland, I took in the local wildlife that included a Puffin tour on the O’Brian Puffin tour at Bay Bulls. The birds should have been long gone from this coast, but because of global warming, their migration has changed and they were still fishing. Although these birds were thriving in the warmer waters, Puffins south of Newfoundland, closer to the United States, are having problems. Global warming has changed the types of fish on which the Atlantic Puffin thrive. The fish are too big for the chicks and cause them to choke or go hungry.
