The warm African sun was slowly sinking and the evening shadows lengthened as a pack of African Wild Dogs lay quietly along a dusty road in Botswana. This gave me a wonderful opportunity to watch and enjoy the family interactions as they awaited the innate signal to begin the evening hunt. The dog’s unique ears flicked and twitched to pick up distant sounds, the noses lifted to inhale the scent of the bush and the eyes were ever watchful. The signal was silently given and in an instant they were gone but I was left with an incredible memory that I could capture with pencil and paper.
