“South Beach Condos” came about after a trip to Lincoln Road, a busy pedestrian mall in Miami Beach. I was fascinated with the huge communal nest, and the lively chattering from the birds. Knowing that these birds are considered an invasive species, I looked to see if anyone else was paying attention to them, good or bad. No one was—they apparently have been accepted into this busy semi-urban environment just as completely as the many people who also enjoy being a part of South Florida. They’re all part of the same flock now.
