On New Year’s day in a Toronto Park, I went for a walk with my camera. Standing on huge boulders, watching this duck fishing in the beautiful coloured waters, I took many pictures. I couldn’t tell what kind of duck I was looking at because of the glare off my camera. When I got home, I saw that my duck was a male Mallard in his eclipse stage, turning from the camouflage brown colours to the beautiful distinctive colours of the adult male Mallard.
