The prehistoric dragonfly lives within the realm of sculptures using many mediums. The ones chosen are the ones that work best to achieve the final result, hopefully with some impact to the viewers. I knew that i wanted to make a giant dragonfly to hang from the large pine tree trunk in our yard, adding to the menagerie of our yard art. I found the correct aluminum materials and stainless bolts that worked perfectly. I wanted the eyes to bulge like real bug eyes. I found vintage glass headlights on the web and painted the inside bluish green. There are solar lights inside the glass eyes that glow in the night as if this menacing giant is eye balling you!
