The Wandering Albatross is a fascinating bird—with a wing span larger than any other bird—this impressive creature can stay at sea for months on end. In this painting, I have tried to capture the female Albatross during her noisy and energetic courtship ritual; both birds flap their wings and call to the sky as they greet their mate after two years apart, that time spent mostly at sea.
