When you think of New Jersey, I’m sure you don’t associate it with farms. However, we are known as the Garden State and boast almost 800,000 acres of farmland, 300,000 of which are preserved or historical. Farmland means barns, and both are quite abundant in my area, but it’s the older structures like this one that offer the most variety of interesting textures. This really excites the artist in me! Many old preserved barns still house animals, and where there are animals, House Sparrows can be found waiting for the opportunity to indulge in any available livestock feed.
