I have been fortunate to get to know this particular barn owl, Boogie, through a local wildlife rehab. I have enjoyed painting him from many angles. I chose this dramatic profile pose as it shows off his beautiful dish-like face and black button eyes. Using their “facial disc,” they are capable of catching prey in total darkness using sound alone, truly a remarkable raptor.
